Character Background:
THE WORLD: Let us start with the basic world of the To Aru series. The To Aru series is mainly set in the Academic City found in Tokyo. The Academic City, as you can probably tell from the name, is a city area that houses various schools and institutions that focus research on psychic powers and higher technology. This city basically acts like a whole country as it has its own government and is not open to the public.
The city's schools uses a curriculum called the Power Curriculum Program for the student's to attain their Personal Reality, and thus to psychic powers to make them, or become better, espers. A Personal Reality is considered the basis of all the espers powers. It is something apparently all people have inside their conscious. People who are able to develop it are the ones able to use their supernatural abilities. It is related to will in the sense that if the esper strongly believes in their Personal Reality, they will then project their Personal Reality to normal reality and effectively causing some sort of change in it (which are the psychic powers). .....It's apparently going into Quantam Physics so let's try not to ask too many details. Or else the mun will explode.
Anyway, so the stronger their Personality Reality is the stronger their powers are. The school curriculum uses tests, studies, lectures, medicines, body stimulation (like drugs and whatnot), and hypnosis to modify the brain to create the Personal Reality. However, these classes causes the body to change circuits (a more better one to use psychic abilities) and thus are highly likely to be injured if these espers use magic.
Yes, magic. They exist in this world too! Keeping it briefly, magicians are people who uses rituals and spells and stuff to do magic. As long as they are not an esper, and the preparation for the magic is done correctly, anyone can do it, contrary to espers who have to be born with somewhat of a talent. These magicians use Mana as the energy to help them do magic. Mana is life force, it exists in everyone and everything. However, espers constantly emit a field of AIM from their body, which is incompatible with Mana, thus espers are unable to use magic without severe consequences. AIM, or An Involuntary Movement, is the invisible energy field that espers involuntarily produce. More AIM = more powerful.
The espers are tanked from Level 0 to Level 5. Level 0 are students that have no power, cannot keep up with school, or has power but cannot control it. Level 5 are students with super powers, and are said that they can fight with a whole army on their own on equal terms. The majority of the students in the city are actually Level 0s, where as there are only seven Level 5s. 7 out of 1.8 million in the city. Yeah, it's pretty hard to reach up there. It can be noted that Level 5s all seems to be mentally instable at times, whether in a comedic sense or in a serious sense. One can think, that it's because of the series of experimentation and the treatment they have got as a Level 5, since they are often called monsters.
Now, although there are only 5 levels so far, the Academy City's main goal is to create a Level 6, a person with absolute powers that are considered immeasurable. This Level 6 is used interchangeably as SYSTEM, defined as "Those who are not deities that reach the sense of the heavens." Level 6s are espers who have reached the SYSTEM or become the SYSTEM itself. The goal of the SYSTEM is to understand the wills of the heavens, and the only one that can do such a thing is a human who that exceeds humans and can do God's calculations. The City thus, does many experiments to attain the Level 6, whether it be through unlawful and gruesome experiments, that break many laws and leave a pile of dead bodies.
The most logical way to get a Level 6 is to make a Level 5 rank up. So far, the only one that is said is capable to reach the Level 6 is Accelerator.
CHILDHOOD: Not much is known about Accelerator as a child. He recalls he was Japanese with a normal name with two characters for his last name and three for his first name. It's said that he was an overall normal child until his powers increased to harm anyone that got near him indiscriminately. After that, he became a loner and passive to showing emotion around other people.
Up until 9 years old, he was held in the Special Ability Holder Alteration Technologies Research Institute (or just simply Special Ability Institute). Even there he was considered a monster for his powers, as he was ordered to do terrible things. (Although he does not specify, it's probably something like kill)
After the institution is dismantled, he is sent to various institutions and research facilities. To the public, he was said to be attending a special class for him only and was living in a dorm alone far away.
Along the way, he was picked up by Kihara Amata, also a researcher, that trained Acclerator in expanding and controlling his powers. Accelerator was probably also influenced by Kihara's ruthless personality against experimentation subjects.
AUGUST 20: Accelerator's first appearance in the series is on August 20, where he is estimated to be around 15 or 16. He is participating in an experiment called Level 6 Shift, which is an experiment solely created for him to become a Level 6. According to the Tree Diagram, a super computer, if Accelerator kills Misaka Mikoto, a Level 5 esper, 128 times he will be able to reach Level 6. However, having 128 Misaka Mikotos is impossible, so the project created Level 3 clones of Misaka Mikoto, known as the Sisters, so that Accelerator can kill 20,000 of them in a variety of methods to reach the same result.
It was on the experimentation with the 10,032nd clone when the main character of the To Aru series, Kamijou Touma comes in to stop such a heinous act. Kamjou uses the logic that if he, a Level 0 esper defeats the strongest Level 5 esper, the researchers would conclude that Accelerator is not the strongest esper and thus it would be useless to conduct the experiment in the first place.
At first Accelerator only sees Kamijou as a weakling, because of Kamijou's Imagine Breaker (his power in which all supernatural powers that his right hand touches being nullified) the attacks started to not work. Eventually, Kamijou figures out that Accelerator is practically a noob in street fighting, and thus brings him down with a hard punch to the face. Although this was after like, Accelerator broke some train rails, created plasma, and caused dust explosions. It's a miracle on how Kamijou even survived that long really.
Accelerator states that he had joined this experiment because he no longer wanted to people to pick fights with him for "fun" to see if he really is the strongest esper. He figured that if he was the strongest esper, people would think it was foolish, even a sin, to even try to challenge him. It's revealed later on that he wanted this status so that no one would get harmed in trying to attack him, but as he delves deeper in to the Academy City's darker side, his goals somewhat became twisted.
AUGUST 31: After his defeat by Kamijou Touma, he was no longer considered the strongest esper to many people. Thus many people started picking fights on him and vandalizing his apartment and such, not that it really affected Accelerator. However, it does show his personality of being constantly apathetic, insolent person.
On his way home from the store (buying like a dozen canned coffee) aloli young girl in a blanket stalks him. After asking who the hell she was, the girl introduced herself as Last Order. She was the 20,001th clone made of Misaka Mikoto. However, her function is the command center of the Misaka clones and the administrator of the Misaka Network. The Misaka Network is a brainwave network connecting the remaining 10,031 clones that allows them to share the experience and memories that one clone had. The network is also able to be used for calculating purposes which later on will affect Accelerator greatly.
After Last Order's incessant bugging, he allows her to stay in his vandalized room, and the next morning take her to a family restaurant. There, Last Order says that through the memories of the previous clones, she found a pattern in which Accelerator always tried to strike up a conversation with the clones before battle. She says the purpose of humans to converse is to make a link with each other, to which Accelerator says that most of the words were insults, trashing them. Last Order agrees, and she found that interesting. She concludes that Accelerator had said those words to scare off the clones before the start of the battle so that he would not have to kill the clones. Accelerator says that reasoning is ridiculous and absurd and proceeds to stomp out of the family restaurant (taking the check though).
Soon after, Last Order is kidnapped from the restaurant by Amai Ao, a research that worked in the Level 6 Shift project. He had apparently installed a virus to Last Order which would command all the Sister clones to attack indiscriminately towards humans. Accelerator learns of this from the researcher, Yoshikawa, and decides to go find Last Order and bring her back to her incubation tube so that the virus can be deleted.
When he does find her, the virus had already begun processing, so he takes the personality data of Last Order, take one look at it to memorize it, and then control the electric brainwave signals with his power so that he can re-write the altered data with the original data. While in the process, Amai Ao (who he had knocked unconscious) shoots him point-blank in the head right after he finished re-writing the data and saving Last Order from the virus. Accelerator is seemingly dead, but when Amai tries to shoot Last Order, he deflects it. Accelerator continues to say that even if they both are scumbags that can never be saved, Last Order, and the Sister clones, have nothing to do with the two of them, and they do not deserve to die. He sees now that each clone is a human, and that it isn't anybody's right to just kill them off. As soon as he says that however, he goes unconscious, and is only saved by Yoshikawa shooting Amai Ao.
Accelerator is taken to a hospital that is run by a doctor named Heaven Canceler, where the doctor saves Yoshikawa (who had been shot in the heart) and Accelerator both. The doctor states that Accelerator had kept Yoshikawa from dying by controlling the blood so that it would keep flowing without any spilling from the ruptured artery, even though he was unconscious himself. As for his injury, his frontal lobe of the brain was severely damaged, causing him to lose much of his language and computation abilities, and leaving him with a gait abnormality.
SEPTEMBER 14: Accelerator is seen awake with Last Order in the hospital under the care of Yomikawa Aiho, who is the friend of Yohshikawa Kikyou. The doctor, Heaven Canceler, had successfully created an electrode collar that connects him to the Misaka Network which substitutes as his lost brain parts. He is able to talk and move around (with a cane however). If he connects to the network fully, he is able to have the network do his computing so that he can use his abilities.
The remnants of the Tree Diagram (the super computer that came up with the Level Shift 6 project) were being collected, and the danger was that if the Tree Diagram was indeed to be rebuild, the Level Shift 6 might be re-started once more. Listening to Last Order's ask of help, Accelerator goes to destroy the case that held the remnants and the beat the person collecting it. He states that even though he probably is no longer the strongest, he wants to at least act as the strongest esper in front of Last Order.
SEPTEMBER 30: Accelerator and Last Order is released from the hospital, and both are to live at the house of Yomikawa Aiho. She happens to be a Skill-Out operative, a group of Level 0's that fights for injustice caused by higher ranking espers. She states that she will help the two of them and shelter them from institutions and groups that want them or want to harm them. To this, Accelerator says she is an idiot for taking on such a dangerous role. However, Aiho says that Accelerator is worth helping, since he himself wants to change for better.
After a few hours of spending in her house, Last Order goes out without any of their knowledge. Accelerator goes to look for her begrudgingly, while Yomikawa asks why he is so hesitant in showing goodwill. Accelerator denies that he has any goodwill, but she brushes that off as him being scared that he would mess up and his goodwill backfiring. He instead does the best thing ever, which is hanging up the phone call. Soon after, he finds Index (Touma's loli) and treats her with food. Together they look for Last Order as she looks for Touma, and they each find their missing person in the underground shopping mall.
As Accelerator and Last Order walk home, she trips and skins her knees. Once again, thinking he's being idiotic, he goes to buy some bandaids (cute ones) for her. Before he can reach her though, a car comes ramming into him. The scientist that had developed his powers, Kihara Amata, had apparently been ordered to capture Last Order for some purpose. Although Last Order tries to fight back, Kihara uses this crazy fighting style that pretty much renders Accelerator's wall of reflection useless. He manages to let Last Order escape, and was about to get killed himself, when the scene is interrupted by Index.
Taking Index and hijacking a car, he has some fiesta with the Hound Dogs, a black-ops groups, which ends in all the Hound Dogs splattered in red. After a conversation with Kihara, he figures out that Kihara is working for the Academy itself, and that the Board of Directors is in on this as well. He shows anger by throwing a building (because that's how all the cool kids do it), and then proceeding to break into one of the Board of Director's house, shotgunning him down, and hacking into the computer to find Last Order's whereabouts. After finding the location, he dynamically enters from the window (since doors are for losers) and comes to a face-to-face battle with Kihara.
Just like the battle before, Accelerator is unable to land a blow on Kihara before running out of battery. He lays there unable to move or do anything, before somehow rising up to continue attacking Kihara. His actions are something that is close to a zombie though, and he doesn't seem to be thinking too much, just intent on defeating Kihara. In the middle of this, Index comes to cure Last Order from the virus she was infected with. At the same time, Accelerator "awakens" to a new power in which black wings appear from his body and his reflection powers seem to be on as well. He deals with Kihara by blasting him off to the sky, quite literally. Afterwards, he is asked by the members of GROUP to join their forces, as the war between the magic and science was beginning. Being told it was the best way to keep Last Order safe (aka blackmail), Accelerator gives his consent.
OCTOBER 3: Accelerator is now a GROUP operative and has left the house of Yomikawa. GROUP is an underground organization to take care of the darker internal matters of the Academy City, and often perform illegal activity for the city. His first mission is to take out the leader of the Skill-Out, who are planning an uprising. He battles with the leader and wins, except that the leader commits suicide after realizing the similarities of Accelerator and himself. (wanting to protect someone) Finding the hit list of espers targeting Level 0 on the dead man's cellphone, Accelerator goes to do some overtime work of taking those people out.
He also does more free overtime by sending a couple Skill-Out ops that were trying to kill a person, to heaven. Afterwards, he meets up with three other espers of GROUP, to which they ask Accelerator if he would like to join the trio so that they could give the ticket to heaven for their higher-ups, seeing that all of them were blackmailed with their precious person into joining GROUP. He is seen to answer yes in a rather gleeful way, seemingly happy that he has a goal to work.
PERSONALITY: As said before, he is mostly an apathetic, insolent person that keeps away people, physically and mentally. He's shown to have pretty my-paced life style, and does what he wants, when he wants. If it isn't about something he cares, he really doesn't give a shit about it. This means walking into a bathroom with three naked females. He doesn't even bat an eye. However, he can easily be angered if it's anything related to Last Order, if they are taunting him, or not listening to him. Even this anger can be of a several levels though. If it's small irritation, he usually just growls and glares at the enemy. If it's something pretty pissing, he will beat you down no questions asked.
This quick change is seen more prominently in fights however. He could be walking down a street, and then if anyone tried to attack him (that wasn't too weak) or Last Order, he immediately snaps into a rather maniacal mode. During battles, he is much more expressive and talkative. He will always taunt and play with his enemies (unless he's too pissed to do so) before ruthlessly finishing them off. Accelerator seems to derive pleasure from these fights, as he's often heard saying "This is fun! Fun!!" or laughing his head off. He seems to also be in the prone of repeating a word when in this mode as well.
Another point to observe about Accelerator is that he is quite confident. He is the city's most powerful esper, and he knows it. Even after his brain damage, he know very well that even still most people can't take him down. He knows that his calculations are always perfect. He had a tendency to underestimate his opponents, but after his fight with Touma, he realizes levels and sight aren't always the case. Especially now with his brain damage, he knows that he can't fully rely on his powers anymore.
Lastly, his relationship with Last Order is something very new to him. She is the first person he has even tried to think about saving, and succeeding in it. He has vowed to her, and the Sisters, that he will no longer harm on of the clones, no matter what. Last Order is his path back to the light, but Accelerator is afraid to move into it. Even though he is trying to be of a savior rather than a destructor, he has given up on himself to go back to the light. Instead, he will do whatever it takes to save Last Order from anything related to the darkness, and keep her in the light. He will carnage and fall more into the darkness if it's to keep Last Order safe. HOWEVER LET'S POINT OUT, YES LAST ORDER IS A LOLI. BUT ACCELERATOR IS NOT A LOLICON. Despite the many jokes. The author has said Accelerator view Last Order more as a daughter and a family, not as a love interest.
Abilites/Special Powers:
ACCELERATOR: His name and his power, it is basically the power to sense and modify vector values of anything such as momentum, temperature, light, electricity, etc. his skin touches. This occurs because of his thin field of AIM that surrounds him.
This power is always on “Redirection” as a default, causing him to deflect anything coming his way, even if he doesn’t realize it coming. (Meaning bullets, cars, explosives, and probably nuclear weapons does not work on him) Thus, he has to consciously allow needed things like gravity and oxygen to reach him. This ability also reflects ultraviolet, giving him his albino appearance. (Since the lack prevents melanin manufacture. His hormone unbalance also causes him his unisexual body)
If the attack is made by oxygen or gravity, it will reach him, however, all he has to do is pinpoint a vector calculation to filter that out, so it’s not that effective. Likewise, if it is an thing that Accelerator has ever known, he will be able to reflect it if he puts in those calculations. His abilities are “vector modifications” so there are limits to what he can move depending on the object he’s using the vectors against, and he cannot create something out of nothing. As for supernatural elements, he is able to reflect those as well, however since it is not of the same logic, it causes odd things to happen during the reflection. There are also ways around his barrier.
Although Redirection itself is a powerful, he uses his powers in several other ways to crush his opponent in a one-way matter.
-Stomping: With the vectors beneath his feet, he causes explosions of the rock and earth to attack the opponent.
-Shooting: With even a small object, by changing the magnitude of vectors he comes in contact with, it become a deadly projectile. (ie, rock to bullet) It also allows him to mimic superhuman strength. (ie, kicking a train rail to make it fly a few feet)
-Wind Control: He can change the surrounding wind, and force them to conjugate at a single point to create a high velocity wind to attack. He can also use it to make himself fly by creating small tornadoes behind him to propel him upwards. This also means him re-vectoring gravity onto him. By further compressing those winds at a high speed, he can create a plasma ball. However, these wind control does not work if the wind starts acting up in an unnatural way that does not fit into his calculations.
-Brain Hacking: By redirecting the electric signals of the brain he can, in a sense, control the person and rewrite personalities and memories.
Basically, there is a plethora of ways to use this power. One of his favorites is redirecting blood causing an inner explosion in his victims. Or redirecting skin movement to skin then alive. APPARENTLY HE CAN EVEN USE THE EARTH'S ROTATIONAL VECTORS TO THROW THINGS, CAUSING EARTH TO SLOW DOWN 5 MINUTES. (which he has. global warming is all due to him) All he needs is imagination and correct calculations. There’s a reason why this power is considered the strongest out of the espers...
AS IF THIS WAS ENOUGH, THE AUTHOR STATES "NO, LET'S GIVE HIM SOMETHING ELSE" (probably to make up for his brain damage)
AWAKENING: In moments of extreme danger (meaning death any moment) or when he has absolutely snapped, he “awakens” to a higher level of power. In this state, he gains the ability to control and create “imaginary vectors” and no longer has to touch to control the vectors. He manifests Black Wings (that seems to be made of something similar to Telesma) that does his vector calculations at a inhumane speed. The power is described as “He who wields a piece of power that equates to God.”
This state of “awakening” is still considered to be a mystery, and because of its the characteristics (wings, halo at times, and the origin of power similar to Telesma) it can be said that espers who had awakened (two so far, including Accelerator) are in a sense, artificial angels.
However, in his awakened state, Accelerator loses almost all conscious control of the self (except when it concerns Last Order) and is driven to destruct anything around him. He also stops speaking the language of the human, but the language of the angels, which sounds like someone using dial-up connection.
GENIUS: Perhaps you’ve already realized it, but Accelerator does those vector calculations needed to use his powers on his own. His mind is exactly one of a genius, and is said to be as high spec as a super computer. He is seen to be able to arrange his cane to better fit him and decode programs, as well as decode magical songs. He is also able to speak a different language if he choses to learn, and is an all-rounder genius.
His incredibly fast learning skills allow him to understand how to use weapons and devices in a short period of time. Accelerator also knows how to plan, use tactics, and psychologically attack someone if he choses to during battle.
WEAKNESS: With all his powers, he seems like the absolute godmod cheat character. But no worries, he actually comes with severe handicaps.
The first one is his physical weakness. Due to his reliance on his powers all of his life, he has not trained his body at all. A punch by a normal high school guy can take him down. (as long as you can get through his defense) This brought aobut his defeat against Kamijou Touma, so after that, he seems to have begun training his actual body as well. After joining GROUP, he is found to be practicing his shooting as well, although none seems to fit well to him.
The second one is his bigger weakness though, and completely acts as a stopper for him to become the ultimate cheat. Due to being shot in the head, he damages his brain. At the moment, he is only able to move normally thanks to an electrode collar that is connected to the Misaka Network that acts as his lost brain parts. Without it, Accelerator cannot comprehend language correctly, move, or connect his thoughts. Basically, without the collar and the network, he is a vegetable. It is only thanks to the the collar that he is able to live normall, albeit with a cane. This collar has to be charged frequently, and at normal mode works for 48 hours. When using his powers, the collar only lasts for 30 minutes. Yes, this collar now does his vector calculations for him. But the network’s abilities doesn’t even add up to half of his former calculation abilities.
So if you can cause the collar to shut down (whether due to out-of-battery or some other means) you are able to kill him at utmost ease.
Now, in Wonderland, naturally the Misaka Network does not exist. He'll automatically be connected to the Wonderland Network (for the purposes of RP). However, Wonderland's network is something that's not so awesome, so he'll definitely be feeling the effects of it. He'll probably won't be able to multi-task as much, such as moving and talking the same time. His calculations will definitely take more time and there will be the danger of miscalculation if he isn't concentrating enough.
Third-Person Sample:
Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. The sound of the firing gun fell deaf on Accelerator's ears. It wasn't because he was wearing ear protection. He had been listening to this sound continuously for the past few days, and by now it just felt like a background noise. Similar to the sound of footsteps or wind in the air.
He tossed the gun down on the table, where an assortment of other guns and empty shells were strewn about as well. Checking the target, he saw that he had most hit the critical points. Still, Accelerator felt that using a gun was too slow at times. Especially with him being able to only use one hand for reloading and all. Taking the headphones off, he left the mess he made, assuming someone else will just clean it up.
As he leaves the shooting range and walks through the hall of the GROUP base, he passes by a couple of other operatives. Accelerator pays no heed to them however, and they do their best to not see him in the eye. 'Heh. Scared, all of them. Those wimps.' Always scared. Never wanting to associate with the monster. Not wanting to die unreasonably by his hands. 'Better for me. Better than having to deal with those idiots.'
Accelerator's goal was to go back to his room, but he realizes that he would want some coffee. There were none in his now completely empty refrigerator, so he would have to go buy for them. Although he thinks it's a hassel, that was better than being irritated later on without his coffee. The convenience store it is.
First-Person Sample:
[ The feed starts with a thin, albino boy walking into the main hall. He walks with a cane, and it looks like he is listening to a mp3 player. Furthermore, he looks pretty pissed at something.
He stops in the middle of the hall and takes a look around, before taking out a cellphone from his pocket and flipping through his address book. However, he realizes there are not antennas and that trying to make a call is pointless ]
Tch.... Useless.
[ He plays around with a few more buttons on his cellphone before pausing as if realizing something. He makes a growling sound before putting away the cellphone back into his pocket. He fingers the collar on his neck, then lightly tapping his foot on the ground.
Crack.
A small fissure appears on the ground that runs along a few feet ]
...?! The hell....
[ The person that seemingly has caused the fissure looks to be in shock as he sees the damage however. ]

On his way home from the store (buying like a dozen canned coffee) a
After Last Order's incessant bugging, he allows her to stay in his vandalized room, and the next morning take her to a family restaurant.
